India West: Indian American boy gets Lebron James’ attention

Lebron KidRahul Mamtora is one lucky basketball fan.

The 11-year-old Indian American from San Jose, Calif. has won the chance to fly to Miami to meet LeBron James of the Miami Heat and watch him play. It’s all thanks to the winning t-shirt design he crafted to mark the launch of the LeBron 11, James’ 11th tennis shoe made by Nike. James picked Mamtora’s design out of thousands of submissions. The winning design features the tagline, “Not One. Not Two. Not Given. Earned” to reflect James’ vow to add to his two NBA championship rings by winning more titles.

The design will be featured on a Nike t-shirt and Nike will also donate $2,000 – $3,000 worth of Nike equipment to Tom Matsumoto Elementary School, where Mamtora attends sixth grade.
