This can’t be making the White House happy.
At a time when tension between the United States and India are strained over the Devyani Khobragade (pictured) controversy, American diplomat Wayne May is suffering from a case of foot in the mouth disease.
May was expelled from India in retaliation for the explusion of Khobragade from the United States over charges of visa fraud
Time is reporting that May took to Facebook with some less than diplomatic remarks about his former host country.
“It’s the vegetarians that are doing the raping, not the meat eaters — this place is just so bizarre.” wrote May in reference to India’s reputation for sexual violence.
May also said his dog was more nourished than his Indian gardener.
The comments have been getting major play in Indian media and the White House has tried to distance itself from the remarks.
