Seattle Seahawk wide receiver Doug Baldwin just had the game of his career, reports the Seattle Times.
Baldwin had a season high 106 yards on six catches and also ran back a kickoff 69 yards in a 23-17 win over the San Francisco 49es in the NFC Championship game.
The Filipino American who was never drafted in the NFL plays with a chip on his shoulder and it’s working. A story he saw about the game on ESPN only added fuel to his fire.
“They were talking about the wide receivers for the Seattle Seahawks. They said that we’re not the main entrees. They said that we’re the appetizers. I’ll take that. We’re the appetizers. But we’re one hell of a good appetizer.”
It’s a good thing for Seahawk fans that Baldwin didn’t catch a comment made by former NFL running back Marshall Faulk.
Faulk called Baldwin “a star waiting to happen.”
Baldwin is a rising star who’s stock could go up even further with a good game at the most important game of his life, the Superbowl February 2 against the Denver Broncos.
You can read more about Baldwin’s heroics in Sunday’s game in the Seattle Times.
RE: Seahawk & Filipino American Doug Baldwin is going to the Superbowl: I hope that at the Superbowl, the Seahawks will reprise their dramatic entrance at a previous game, hinoring the victims of typhoon Haiyan. Maybe this time, Baldwin will carry the Philippine flag correctly 🙂 http://adobochronicles.com/2013/11/19/seattle-sea…
