An Indian American Gulf War veteran who was being treated for post traumatic stress disorder has been shot and killed by police in the Central California town of Lodi, reports India West.
Scores of people joined together tonight for a candlelight vigil to mourn his death, according to KTXL
Police say Parminder Singh Shergill charged at them with a knife, but other witnesses contradict that account.
“It happened so fast, he just turned around, and they started shooting,” Cassandra Lopez, who witnessed the entire shooting, said. “I didn’t see any weapon in his hand at all.”
