As many expected, Satya Nadella has been named CEO of Microsoft, reports the Guardian.
The choice of the Microsoft insider and Indian American to take over from Steve Ballmer ends a 5 month search.
He currently heads Microsoft’s cloud computing division.
In a related announcement, founder Bill Gates will step down as chairman to take a position on the board.
“Satya is a proven leader with hardcore engineering skills, business vision and the ability to bring people together. His vision for how technology will be used and experienced around the world is exactly what Microsoft needs as the company enters its next chapter of expanded product innovation and growth,” Gates said.
But how did outsiders rate the promotion of Nadella. More on that in the Guardian.
