Two leads have been cast in Fresh off the Boat, a TV comedy based on the memoirs of author and chef Eddie Huang, reports Deadline.
Randall Park will play Huang who is described as a hip hop loving son of an immigrant father obsessed with all things American.
Park played the trainee Wong in the movie Larry Crowne with Tom Hanks and had a recurring role in HBO’s Veep.
He is a graduate of ABC’s Diversity Showcase.
Constance Wu gets the part of the no-nonsense mom who believes in tough love.
Her credits include the part of Jenn in Stephanie Daley. She also appeared in the Sound of My Voice and Ties.
