Two Filipino American contestant will battle tonight for survival on American Idol, reports Rappler.
Michigan’s Malaya Watson and Marrialle Sellars, 17, of Indianapolis, Indiana both have Filipino mothers.
Both wowed the judges in the earlier rounds, but received some critical comments even as they both made it into the top 30.
Viewers will get a chance to select the top 10 with the judge’s adding three additional wild cards.
Marrialle’s mom moved from the Philippines in 1994.
AsAmNews previously featured Malaya in a story about the 13-year old’s audition.
