It could be future training for her future life.

The ice queen’s husband, Clay Pell, recently announced he was running for governor of Rhode Island.

Now the Washington Times reports Michelle is being blasted for endorsing Coca Cola while sitting on the Council of  Fitness, Sports and Nutrition.

The criticism from the Center for Science in the Public Interest is itself being criticized by the conservative think tank National Center for Public Policy Research.

It called the “absolutist view” absurd “by suggesting that people who enjoy an occasional sugary beverage cannot be active, athletic and healthy.”

Kwan isn’t the only athlete on the Council of Fitness, Sports and Nutrition who has endorsed a sugary drink.
CSPI also called out New Orleans Saint Drew Brees for appearing in Pepsi commercials, olympic sprinter Allyson Felix has endorsed Gatorade  and Los Angeles Clipper Chris Paul for endorsing Powerade.

  1. Washington Times: Michelle Kwan caught in a political food fight: I may be wrong, but isn’t the CA mayor of Cranston, RI also running for governor as a Republician?

    • Re: Isn't the Chinese American mayor of Cranston, Rhode Island also running for governor as a Republican? You are correct, Allan Fung has declared his candidacy for Governor of Rhode Island. He is a Republican. Thank you for bringing this up.
