Outrage over an insensitive pun used in a headline about a dessert company owned by a Cambodian American has forced the apology from a food blog editor, according to a post by the Philadelphia Chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association.
The headline in phoodie.info read “Lunch Break: Pol Pot Stickers Edition.”
Annie Hitchens, owner of Koliyan, wrote the following response on Facebook.
Phoodie.info editor Adam Brodsky promptly issued an apology and removed the post.
