AM New York reports a man has been arrested in the alleged hate crime beating of a Sikh professor from Columbia University.
New York police say Christian Morales was arrested Friday and now faces a hate crime charge of felony aggravated harassment.
Witnesses say Prabhjot Singh was walking through South Harlem in September when a group of men on bikes began kicking and beating him, yelling “get Osama” and “terrorist.”
Singh suffered a broken jaw.
According to the NYPD, Morales admitted to pulling Singh’s beard.
Back in September, police released a video tape of the incident.
