Michelle Wie won the Lotte Championship in her home state of Hawaii this weekend, reports The Chosun Ilbo.
It’s just her third LPGA victory and her first since 2010 when she won the CN Canadian Women’s Open.
She’s had a drought going winless in 79 competitions during that time, but don’t feel too sorry for her.
The Lotte Championship comes with a check for $255,000, bringing her total to $616,555.
Wie started the final day of the competition four strokes behind, but took the lead from Angela Stanford with a final round of 67 to end with a 14 under 274.
“I’m just really grateful for everything,” said Wie to reporters. “I do believe everything happens for a reason and all my ups and downs, especially the downs, make me who I am today. … Without the downs, I wouldn’t be as happy as I am today.”
The 24-year old golfer is poised to have a great year having finished in the top 10 in seven events this season.
