Boston Herald: Lawsuit likely to be filed against “quotas” for Asian American applicants to Harvard

HarvardThis seems like a game of trolling for clients, but its quite serious and one that’s likely to attract a lot of attention( photo by Will Hart).

The Boston Herald reports that a lawyer from Virginia is seeking rejected Asian American clients to Harvard who feel they’ve been discriminated against.

Attorney Ed Blum heads the non-profit The Project on Fair Representation.

He says he already has clients lined up and expects to file his lawsuit in weeks, not months.

He claims Harvard has set up a quota that limits the number of Asians on campus.

Harvard is already denying the allegation.

“There are no quotas or limits of any kind at any point in the admissions process,” said Harvard university spokesman Jeff Neal .  “All students are considered in the same pool for all places in the incoming class. The university’s admissions processes remain fully compliant with all legal requirements.”

Blum is also planning similar lawsuits against the University of North Carolina and the University of Wisconsin.
