Dancing with the Star’s celebrity Cheryl Burke hosted a fundraiser Friday to raise money for scholarships and entrepreneurship in the Philippines, reports the Inquirer.
The Filipino American dancer has been dancing since the age of 4. She hopes to connect entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley with the Philippines for the non-profit Philippine Development (PhilDev) Foundation.
Cheryl’s mother Sherri recently appeared on ABC7/KGO to talk about the importance of the event.
“The goals we’re building on, education, innovation, entrepreneurship,” Sherri said.
“We may be crazy enough to be the only foundation that says we need to develop the economy of the Philippines to be a thriving, fast growth economy,” said philanthropist Dado Banatao.
