In a system of reward and punishment, a new fitness device will give you a mild shock if you fail to achieve your fitness goals, reports the Financial Express.
Indian American inventor Maneesh Sethi hopes to release his device known as Pavlok for sale later this year.
The device rewards you for exercising with such prizes as lottery tickets and even cash prizes.
“The negative gets you started and the positive keeps the habit going,” Sethi says. “As you start to succeed, you can take away the negative reinforcement and give positive reinforcement.”
Sethi is putting into an invention what he did with human interaction. He gained notoriety when he had a woman slap him every time he opened Facebook.
