A big contingent of Filipino media greeted Jordan Clarkson as he was introduced by the Los Angeles Lakers, reports NBC LA.
Clarkson met with the media during a practice with the Lakers’ Summer League squad.
He was signed for $1.8 million dollars after being acquired in a trade from the Washington Wizards who drafted him in the second round.
“I got the country (The Philippines) behind me. It feels great,” Clarkson said, “That’s also driving me, to be one of the first (Filipinos in the NBA).”
Clarkson who was born in the United States and his mother is from the Philippines.
The point guard averaged 17.5 points a game in his only season with Missouri.
