Workers at one of New Jersey’s and New York’s most popular Korean restaurants are suing for back wages alleging numerous labor violations.
The Times Ledger reports the workers accuse Kum Gang San of asking workers to falsify time cards to make it look the restaurant was in compliance with the law.
14 plaintiffs including 10 Korean wait staff and 3 Latino bussers claimed to have worked 12- 18 hour days, were forced to do personal tasks for the owner and were asked to falsify time cards. They also accuse managers of taking a share of their tips.
The lawsuit was filed by the Asian American Legal Defense & Education Fund and Latino Justice.
This is not the first time Kum Gang Sam has been accused of labor violations. You can read more about that in the Times Ledger.
