It seems Asian Americans are increasingly making waves in the superhero universe, with the latest announcement from Deadline that Peter Shinkoda will be joining the cast of Netflix’s new Marvel drama series.
Set in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood of New York City, the show will follow the story of a blind lawyer who becomes a crime-fighting hero by night. Canadian-born Shinkoda will play a major recurring role as Hachiro.
Shinkoda is known for roles in TNT’s Falling Skies and recently guest-starred on Hawaii Five-O. He has also appeared on the big screen in movies like I, Robot and Godzilla.
Premiering in 2015, Daredevil is the first collaboration between Marvel and Netflix and will run for 13 episodes.
