A disturbing report is out about Pacific Islanders from the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.
Reappropriate reports Pacific Islander LGBTs youth are more likely to harm themselves than white LGBTs, according to the American Journal of Public Health.
In fact, LGBT Alaskan Native and Pacific Islander teens are 1.5 times more likely to attempt suicide or self harm than LGBT white teens. Nearly 2 out of three LGBT Alaskan Native and Pacific Islander teens have harmed themselves. That’s more than any other groups.
The report also found among Asian Americans, LGBT youths are three times more likely than other youths to harm themselves.
The report also found that the problem for Asian Americans and Pacific Islander LGBTs between ages 13-18 is worst among women than men.
