Who do you think is the world’s greatest women action star?
Angela Joie? Jennifer Lawrence? Lucy Liu?
How about Michelle Yeoh? That’s who Jon Lisi argues is the world’s greatest women action star in his post for Popmatters.
Yeoh has a number of action films to her credit both in Hong Kong and the United States.
She co-starred with Jackie Chan in Police Story 3 in 1992. Quentin Tarantino called Yeoh’s stunt of jumping a motorcycle onto a moving train one of the greatest stunts ever.
Yeoh’s first breakthrough in the US market was as a James Bond girl in Tomorrow Never Dies in 1997.
Then of course there’s the classic Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Ang Lee’s much celebrated film from 2000.
