Jeremy Lin responded to some tough love from Kobe Bryant by playing his best game of the regular season in a 118 – 111 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, reports Sportige.
Just days earlier, Kobe had implored Lin to “run the offense.”
Lin admitted he was tentative and unsure of his role with the Lakers. Last night he finished with 17 points and 9 assists in his best game so far as a Laker. He talked about the mentoring he’s received from Kobe.
“When I signed, right from the start he (Kobe) was trying to get me to work out with him and then he’s been teaching me and teaching me, said Lin. “At this stage in his career, he’s definitely been taking me under his wing and really just trying to teach me as much as he can.”
After the game, Bryant emphasized he wants Lin to be more assertive on the court. Bryant says he talked to Lin a lot after the Phoenix loss.
“If you’re a chump, if you’re a pushover, I’ll run over you,” said Bryant.
