When does any community agree on something one hundred percent. Never…at least until now.
SF Gate reports a poll taken by the GOP showed the Vietnamese American community supported California State Senator-elect Janet Nguyen by 100 percent.
Governor Jerry Brown endorsed Nguyen’s opponent, Democrat Jose Solorio. Nguyen quickly turned the endorsement against Solorio, resurrecting comments made by the Governor in the 1970s.
A mailer from Nguyen targeting Vietnamese American voters said Brown “opposed the U.S. government putting the Vietnamese refugees in the state of California in the 1970s.”
The mailer quoted Brown as saying feds wanted to “dump Vietnamese on” the state.
Nguyen won by 20 points in a district that is one-fifth Asian with a heavy Vietnamese American population.
