A judge in Santa Ana, California sentenced two women to six years in prison for the deadly beating of Kim Pham.
Judge Thomas M. Goethals had harshed words for suspects Candace Brito, 27, and Vanesa Zavala, 26, and wondered aloud why they didn’t just walk away from the fight. Brito’s attorney told the judge Pham was partly to blame for throwing the first punch. He also pointed a finger at bystanders who stood by and didn’t stop the fight.
