An effort is now underway to fund the hospice care of Asian American civil rights icon Grace Lee Boggs.
Boggs who’s story has been told on PBS and other national media entered hospice care in September.
At the time it was thought her death was imminent, but the Action Network now says the 99-year old has regained her strength and could “very well celebrate her 100 birthday with us.”
She has been seeing old friends and staying in touch with world events. Her care costs $8,000 a month and her savings are nearly depleted.
Supporters are urged to make monthly or one time contributions. They are also being asked to host public showings of American Revolutionary: The Evolution of Grace Lee Boggs as a way to raise money.
The group will send you a copy of the newly released DVD and will support you in your efforts to create the fundraiser. All funds will go directly to her care. Money given is not tax deductible. Fund not spent on her care in the event of her death will go to the non-profit James and Grace Lee Boggs Trust.
