This is a make or break year for Jeremy Lin.
Just a year removed from being demoted to second string with the Houston Rockets, Lin has seen history repeat itself in Los Angeles just a quarter into the season.
Now in his fifth season and in the final year of a three year contract he originally signed with Houston, some analysts suspect the point guard will be cut loose by the Lakers at the end of the season. Lin now three seasons removed from his Linsanity year with the New York Knicks is in danger of becoming a journeyman in the league.
He’s been honest about his disappointing play.
“My regret isn’t with my effort,” Lin told the Los Angeles Times. My regret is with the performance, whether it’s hitting shots, making plays, all those things.”
Lin has averaged just six points, 4.6 assists and 28.6 percent shooting since his benching.
