Former Miss World and Indian superstar Priyanka Chopra has signed a one year development deal with ABC, reports the Hollywood Reporter.
Under the agreement, the network will either develop a starring role for Chopra or cast the actress in an existing project.
It’s her latest effort to break into the US market. She has teamed up with Pitbull for a single. She’s voiced the Disney’s animated movie, The Plane. She also sang the theme song for 2013 NFL Networks Thursday Night Football Season.
“To a storyteller, each platform of performance offers its own artistic challenges, and if you have a good story to tell, regardless of the platform, audiences will follow,” Chopra said. ”
