The family of Rafael Ramos, one of two New York policemen gunned down by an assassin, came to a memorial to thank officers watching over the site, reports CBS NY.
This is just one night after the family of the other officer killed, Wenjian Liu, did the same on Christmas Eve.
The Christmas holiday hasn’t deterred total strangers and members of the police community from stopping by the memorial to pay their respects.
Korean native Christene Kim came by with her ukulele to play a musical tribute.
“We got here last night and this was one of my first priorities was to come here with my family and pay respect,” said retired police officer Sgt. Ariscedes Montavo.
Members of the clergy had a message for the people of New York. You can read about that on CBS NY.
