The fight many wanted, but also got tired of hearing about, is finally happening.
Floyd Mayweather will risk his undefeated 47 – 0 record and take on Manny Pacquiao (57 – 5 – 2 ) May 2 in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand, reports
Sports Illustrated.
It’s not an accident that Mayweather finally agreed to the fight when Pacquiao is well beyond his prime. Its also not an accident that Floyd agreed to it when he could negotiate a 60-40 purse split. Pacquiao needs the fight more than Mayweather right now for both financial and professional reasons. If the fight had happened earlier, a 50-50 split would have been more likely.
Mayweather announced the fight on social media.

Pacquaio confirmed it.

The deal is reportedly worth 250 million dollars.
The fight has been anticipated for years. Issues such as drug testing, the purse split, broadcast rights and egos always seemed to get in the way.
Out of nine analyst ESPN interviewed, 5 picked Pacquiao. Who do you think will win the fight?
RE: For real this time. Pacquiao and Mayweather set to fight: They may all have the money, but this fight is going to be so priceless! I cannot wait. There is no more fights worth watching than this one! Every boxing fan knows that. I’d put my money on Manny on this fight.
