The family of Bruce Lee has announced a new biopic about the martial arts film legend is in the works, reports Entertainment Weekly.
There have been other films about Lee, but this is the first with the family’s backing.
“There have been projects out there involving my father,” said his daughter Shannon. “But they’ve lacked a complete understanding of his philosophies and artistry. They haven’t captured the essence of his beliefs in martial arts or storytelling.
“The only way to get audiences to understand the depth and uniqueness of my father is to generate our own material and find amazing, like-minded partners to work with.”
Bruce Lee Entertainment is joining with Lawrence Grey and Janet Yang to produce the project.
Yang has produced such films as the Joy Luck Club, People v Larry Flynt and High Crimes.
Personally this is one film I’m looking forward to seeing. Can’t wait to hear more details about it.
