Bias charges have now been filed against six suspects in a string of serial home invasion burglaries targeting Indian American families in New Jersey, reportsAmerican Bazaar

The suspects are accused of bursting into the homes with guns, tying up family members with duct tape and beating them before escaping with cash and jewelry from five Middlesex County homes. Authorities believe the suspects also hit Indian American families in Georgia, Michigan, Texas, and New York.
“After the initial arrests were made in the case, our continuing investigation brought to light additional facts that enabled us to present evidence of bias crimes to the grand jury,”said Andrew Carey, the prosecutor in the case.
