Asian Americans are the fastest growing ethnic group in the U.S., according to the 2010 Census.
Much of this population growth is taking place outside of states considered to have a large population of Asians.
There are 36,763 Asians living in the state of Rhode Island. That’s a 3.5 percent increase since 2000. Allan Fung won the Republican nomination for governor in the state last year, but lost to Gina Raimondo.
There are 33.801 Asians living in the state of Delaware, a 3.8 percent increase since 2000.
