AzCentral: Suicide of Filipino American Track Star Draws Attention to Cyberbullying

cyberbullyingThe town of Corona, Arizona came together after a track star who’s parents are Filipino and African American killed himself, reports AzCentral.

Students from rival schools wore the colors of orange and yellow, the colors Marcus Wheeler wore as a member of the track team of Corona del Sol High School.

Friends expressed shock about Wheeler’s suicide, most said they didn’t realize he had been troubled.

Wheeler tweeted right before he killed himself that “there was going to be a suicide at the school right now.”

Some of the responses were disgusting.

The responses is drawing attention to the problem of cyberbullying. You can learn more in the video report below from Arizona 12.
