Wan recently directed the highly successful Furious 7 after taking over the helm from Justin Lin. Wan is of course best known for his horror flicks, Saw, Insidious and The Conjuring.
The Malaysian Chinese director currently resides in Los Angeles.
Jason Momoa, who according to IMDB, was born in Honolulu and his mother is of Hawaiian descent, welcomed Wan on board. Momoa has been cast to star in Aquaman. “Game on. Super stoked Aloha AC,” he said on Instagram.
Aquaman is due out in 2018.
