Hundreds attended a public memorial Sunday night for a Chinatown leader in Seattle gunned down Thursday morning, reports KING.
“He was a rebel, a warrior, a community historian, and a friend to all,” Dean Wong, Donnie Chin’s best friend, said. “To whoever killed our brother and friend I say that the brave men and women of the police department will catch you and bring you to justice.”
Police have not yet released any information about the suspect in the case. They have publicly stated they believe the murder was random.
Chin worked as an emergency responder in Chinatown, and would often be among the first called whenever people needed help.
“If he (Donnie) heard gun shots and he saw a fire burning he was the one running in that direction when everyone else was running away,” Donnie’s nephew said.
