Bernie Su Wins Emmy for Web Series Emma

Bernie Su

Executive Producer, writer and director Bernie Su has won his second Emmy for original interactive program, reports TubeFilter.

Su won for his web series Emma Approved, a digital adaptation of Jane Austen’s novel Emma.

Emma Approved evolves around a 20-something Southern California woman who helps people fix their problems and find their way in life. Services include everything from matchmaking to assistance in finding the right job.

Su becomes the first person ever to win the award twice. He also won in 2013 for The Lizzie Bennet Diaries.

Academy voters singled out Emma Approved for taking interactivity to another level by linking video, social media, images, text, and music as a way to engage fans.

His other writing credits include Approved, LOOKBOOK: The Series, and Frankenstein MD.

The Emmys’ Interactive Program awards were broadcast Saturday night on FXX.

The primetime Emmys will be broadcasted tonight on FO (earlier version of this article incorrectly listed the wrong network).
