Non-profits in Koreatown in Los Angeles are pushing for the addition of a community center in the planned new County Building , reports the Korea Times.
A county center is to be constructed on between 4th and 6th Streets on Vermont Avenue in Koreatown.
“There is no place for about 4,000 Koreatown youths to play in this neighborhood,” said Joanne Kim. “I want them to make a recreational area for residents to rest their minds and enjoy the space.”
Representatives of the Koreatown Art & Recreation Center (K-ARC), Koreatown Youth Community Center (KYCC) and the Korean American Coalition (KAC) held a news conference about their idea this week.
They plan to make a formal presentation to the Los Angeles County Supervisors on October 13.
RE: Korean Americans call for community center: THIS should have been part of the ORIGINAL proposal and plan….. JUST DO IT!!!!
