Chinatown & Little Italy Hold Eighth Annual Christmas Parade

Text, Video & Photos by Shirley N Lew

Chinatown and Little Italy came together to celebrate the holiday with their 8th annual East Meets West Christmas Parade. The collaboration has been a relationship that is built on the common concern of their neighborhoods after the tragedy of September 11 attacks. The two communities joined together to revive tourism and encourage economic development. In addition to the Christmas parade, they organize the annual Marco Polo Festival in September.

The parade started on the corners of Mott and Canal Streets and included floats and outdoor stage performances.
