The Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund has awarded its Justice in Action Award to former Attorney General Eric Holder Jr, Phil Yu of Angry Asian Man and Heidi C Chen, Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Zoetis, Inc.
The award was presented before 700 people who attended AALDEF’s annual Lunar New Year gala at Pier Sixty in New York City this past Tuesday.
George Takei, fresh off his debut on Broadway in the show Allegiance presented a special message at the award ceremony. Takei is himself a Justice in Action Award winner from 1992.
Cindy Hsu of CBS2 in New York and Sree Sreenivasan, Chief Digital Officer at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, served as Emcees.
