Witnesses say a man tried to assault boxing champion and Filipino icon Manny Pacquiao before the boxer’s aides stopped the attack, reports the Philippine Star.
The attempted attacked happened Sunday in Los Angeles as Pacquiao was leaving a Japanese restaurant.
Abac Cordero reported about the incident in a number of tweets after 10 p.m. Pacific Time.

Pacquiao is training in Los Angeles for what he has said will be his final fight next Saturday against Timothy Bradley.
Pacquiao will wrap up his training early this week before heading to Las Vegas.
