It didn’t take long. Just weeks since the hashtag #StarringJohnCho hit social media, #StarringConstanceWu has already taken hold.
The campaigns were both launched to draw attention to the great possibility of bankable Asian American stars ready and willing to take featured roles on the big screen.
Both campaigns have attracted general media attention and stimulated debate on the lack of diversity– reminding movie goers that race is not just a Black and White issue.
Let’s hope this is more than a passing fad, but will have lasting impact on the often empty minds of Hollywood executives.
