Students at UC Berkeley are mourning the death of one of their own in the terrorist attack in a restaurant in Dhaka, Bangladesh that left at least 22 people dead.
19-year-old student Tararishi Jain was spending the summer there for an internship on e-commerce and to visit her father who runs a business in the country, reports ABC7.
Cal student Abidya Ghandi counted Jain as one of his friends.
“When you met her you could tell she was ambitious,” Ghandi said.
Jain worked with a student run company at Cal called EthiCal Apparel which donated profits to battle global poverty. She was a citizen of India.
“It’s sad. Wouldn’t want this to happen to anyone and I feel bad for her parents. My condolences to them,”said another student and friend Akash Bhalothia .
A memorial will be held at Noon Tuesday at Sproul Plaza on the Berkeley campus for Jain and two other American students killed in the attack.
