Aziz Ansari received an Emmy nomination this morning for best actor in a comedy for his work in Master of None, along with nominations for outstanding writing and outstanding directing in a comedy series for his parents episode which featured his real life parents. Master of None also received a nomination for best comedy series.
The Netflix series has generated a lot of buzz for Ansari’s portrayal of a young actor living life as a single guy in New York. Ansari is the first South Asian American ever to be nominated for an Emmy.
The show was created by Ansari along with his writing partner Alan Yang. The two previously worked together on Parks and Recreation.

Once again left out of the Emmy fun were Constance Wu and Randall Park of Fresh off the Boat.
Wu has been lauded for her comic timing and wit, but apparently it wasn’t enough to earn her a nomination.
Reaction from her fans was swift.
And when the damn hell is Constance Wu going to get her due from the Television Academy smh

The Television Critics Association awarded her with a nomination this summer for individual comic achievement.
The names of both Park and Wu had surfaced as possible Emmy contenders.
If they replaced Ty or Tituss with Randall Park, I wouldn’t mind https://t.co/WYtlVPBXEk

Extremely disappointed not to hear @ConstanceWu on the list of Emmy nominees. She, Randall Park are deserving and should not be overlooked.
