The Olympic flame and torch wasn’t the only thing on fire at the opening ceremonies Friday night in Rio.

Pita Taufatofua lit up social media when he carried the flag into Olympic Stadium for Tonga.

His baby-oiled and toned body even grabbed the attention of NBC commentators Hoda Kotb and Meredith Vieira who couldn’t help but give their stamp of approval at what was before their eyes.

Taufatofua was a relative unknown outside of Tonga prior to last night. He is the first athlete to compete in the Olympics in taekwondo.

He first took up the sport at age 5. He was born in Australia, but has spent most his life in Tonga.
