APIA Vote and the Asian American Journalists Association announced this morning that former President Bill Clinton has confirmed he will speak at the Presidential Town Hall to be held in Las Vegas this Friday.
The event coincides with the annual convention of AAJA which begins this Wednesday.
Also confirming for the Town Hall is the Libertarian presidential nominee, former Gov Gary Johnson, who served as governor of New Mexico from 1995 to 2003 as a Republican.
Negotiations are described as in the final stages with the campaign of Republican nominee Donald Trump.
Organizers expect as many as 4,000 people to attend the forum.
This is being described as historic and is certainly an indication of the growing importance of the AAPI vote. Nevada is considered a swing state and Asian Americans in that state could swing the election. APIA Vote held a similar event during the last 2012 Presidential election, but President Obama and Mitt Romney campaigns sent low level surrogates in their place.
This is the first time, the Republican, Democratic and Libertarian presidential campaigns will directly speak at the same event to the AAPI community at large.
