Police are warning the Asian American community in Sacramento to be extra vigilant after a series of home invasion robberies targeting their community, reports KXTV.
Most of the victims are elderly with limited English speaking ability, but a younger victim is speaking out in hopes of stopping the perpetrators.
The man who asked that his real name not be used describes the terrifying moments after his family heard a loud bang on the door.
“Next thing you know, multiple people rushed in. [They were] armed with firearms… demanded cash and property,” Jim said. “At that moment, we were just hoping for the best… I can’t even think of what went through my mind after it happened.”
Many of the incidents have been caught on surveillance video which have been shared on social media to promote more awareness.
