Korean students at the University of Iowa have unveiled a new fashion channel page to promote people with interesting fashion. Brandyou is delivering news based on the styles of people on the street by utilizing social media outlets such as Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube.
According to David Yoon, a Korean American organizer of Brandyou, fashion doesn’t have to be all about expensive, high-end brands or clothes especially for students still attending college.
“Brandyou is focusing on the styles that represent who you are rather than what brand each piece of your outfit came from,” Yoon said. “Forget the brands, your style itself is the brand that expresses you. Which is why we came up with the name BRANDYOU!”
Whether it be on campus or out at a party, Brandyou’s aim is to meet and find those who use fashion as a means to express themselves. Members of Brandyou recently uploaded many different pictures of fashionable people from homecoming parades, college football games and other student events.
“By doing so, we can change the concept of fashion,” said Yoon. “Fashion is all about what makes you…YOU!”
Brandyou has already become pretty popular in Iowa City and is expanding its reach outside of Iowa. Several people even sent their own pictures to Brandyou to promote themselves.
Brandyou is now looking for more fashionistas living outside of Iowa. If you have interesting fashion and want to brand yourself, don’t hesitate to take a picture of yourself and send it to the Brandyou Fashion Channel.
“Don’t dress to impress. Dress to express!”
