Snowboarding sensation Chloe Kim has never appeared in the Olympics, but in her world on the slopes, she’s a household name.
She would have qualified for the 2014 Sochi Olympics, but at age 13 was too young to be eligible.
Now one year away from the Seoul Olympics, she’s looking forward to competing on the biggest stage in the world.
The Korean American is the first to win three gold medals in the X Games before age 16 and already has endorsement deals with Monster, Toyota, Nike, GoPro and Laneige.
She says she’s no where near peaking.
“I think my riding has hopefully gotten a lot better, but I’m always trying to push myself,” she said to USA Today.
Kim is now in Korea making appearances as an ambassador of her sport and preparing to compete at the International Ski Federation’s (FIS) Snowboard World Cup at PyeongChang.
Next year’s Olympics holds a special meaning for Kim. It will be in the home country of her parents.
“I’m sure all my family will be here to support me, so it’s going to be very exciting,” she said to the Korea Times.
