Police in Austin investigating the cold case murder of a Chinese American teacher say they have persons of interest in the case, reports Fox 7.
Grace Chen was found dead three years ago in the second floor bathroom of her school, Grace Language and Culture.
Friends and families are holding out hope that DNA evidence will bring police closer to an arrest.
“There’s so many questions that are not answered. What is the motive? How did she die? You know, it was in broad daylight. It was not in the middle of the night. Somebody must have seen something; somebody must have heard something. So please come forward,” says Amy Mok, the head of the Asian American Cultural Center.
Investigators believe Chen had been dead for two hours before being found in an area of the school only accessible to employees.
Chen owned the language school with her husband.
She was one of five Asian Americans murdered in the Austin and Houston areas in several weeks. The cases sparked concerns among Asian Americans that they were being targeted.
