Some Asian American students are applauding the sudden resignation of the director of the Asian Pacific Islander American Affairs at the University of Florida.
The university announced Krystie Nguyen resigned for personal reasons, but students who worked under Nguyen told a different story to the Florida Alligator.
They went to university officials days before Nguyen’s resignation to accuse her of asking them to do her dishes, fold her clothes and watch her dog.
“Krystie’s actions have caused severe academic and emotional toll on several ambassadors, and many of us are really uncomfortable with the hostile and unsafe work environment that is now in the APIA affairs room,” said AAPI ambassador Jennifer Zhang.
Another student and AAPI ambassador says he’s been forced to pull all nighters for his studies to fulfill all of Nguyen’s demands for the job.
AsAmNews has attempted to reach out to Nguyen and if we hear back, we will publish her side of the story.
