It’s official.
As AsAmNews reported in February, American Girl has introduced a new Korean American doll.
People reports Z Yang (Z is short for Suzie) hails from Seattle and is a popular stop motion vlogger. While new to the doll line, she’s not exactly new to American Girl. Z has starred in her own web series for about a year.
The aspiring filmmaker is American Girl’s first Korean American doll and will be available beginning tomorrow.
“Like many girls today, Z expresses herself through her art—creating stop motion videos, documentary films and creative storytelling,” said American Girl spokesperson Stephanie Spanos. “Z and the other new contemporary characters give voice to a diverse range of personalities and provide more ways for girls to connect with smart, compelling, and aspirational characters that reflect their interests and experiences today.”
No word yet on when Nanea, a new historical Hawaiian doll, will become available for purchase.
