The Vietnamese American violently dragged off a United Airlines flight when he refused to give up his seat for airline employees has reached a settlement, reports CBS Chicago.
Attorneys news for David Dao announced the deal, but refused to release the terms.
“Mr. Munoz said he was going to do the right thing, and he has. In addition, United has taken full responsibility for what happened on Flight 3411, without attempting to blame others, including the City of Chicago. For this acceptance of corporate accountability, United is to be applauded,” said Thomas Demetrio.
United Airlines also declined to release details of the settlement, but confirmed an agreement had been reached-thus avoiding a costly lawsuit.
In a statement to the Chicago Tribune, it called the settlement an “amicable resolution of the unfortunate incident that occurred aboard flight 3411.”
